Reshma Shamasunder is Director of the California Immigrant Policy Center, a partnership of four immigrant rights organizations advocating for immigrants in California. Prior to coming to the Policy Center, Reshma was Director of Benefits Policy and Government Affairs at the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition. In addition to working on immigrant issues, Reshma has worked on issues of homelessness, child labor in India, and domestic violence. Reshma holds a Master in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Isabel Alegria is currently Communications Director with the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC). Formerly, she worked with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund on MALDEF’s Census 2000 program. Isabel pursued a broadcasting career for more than 20 years, working most recently as a Reporter for National Public Radio, based in San Francisco. Formerly, she worked at radio station KPBS-FM in San Diego and at KXCR in El Paso, Texas. She was the co-founder of the Latin American News Service from El Paso, Texas. Isabel is a graduate of Stanford University in Communications.

Cary Sanders is the Northern California Policy Analyst for the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) where she advocates at the state and local levels for policies and legislation that promote the well being of immigrants and their families. Before joining CIPC, Cary was the Policy Director for Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN) in San Jose where she worked to promote leadership from within immigrant communities through education and advocacy. Cary is a graduate in public policy from UC Berkeley where she focused her studies on labor and immigrant rights issues as a researcher with the UC Berkeley’s Center for Labor Research and Education (CLRE). She has also worked as a paralegal and is proficient in Spanish after having lived and taught in Guatemala

Garrick Wong is CIPC's Program Assistant in Sacramento. Garrick is a graduate in Political Science from the University of California at Davis. Most recently he worked as a Newsroom Intern in the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has also worked in the offices of U.S. Congress Member Doris Matsui and California State Assembly Member Lois Wolk as an office intern.
